Deactivated Old Spec British Enfield Heckler and Koch MP5A3 9mm Sub Machine Gun in very good, original deactivated condition. 1972 dated early Enfield manufacture for British Special Forces. The story is that the grooves on the pistol grip are burns from an abseil rope at the Iranian Embassy Siege! We have no providence to back this up. The Heckler and Koch MP5 was introduced in 1964 and within 15 years had made obsolete every other SMG on the planet. The reason for this is two-fold. Firstly, it fires from a closed bolt, so is very accurate out to 150 metres, not to mention extremely reliable with all types of ammunition. Secondly, the SAS used it during the Iranian embassy siege in front of the world’s press and sales went through the roof. Nowadays, it is the standard SWAT and CRW SMG all over the free world. They are also able to accept a whole host of clip on/ off accessories which allows the operator to fine tune his weapon for the specific mission. An absolute classic design. All deactivated weapons sold by D and B Militaria are deactivated in the United Kingdom and hold a London or Birmingham proof mark and certificate stating that the weapon has been deactivated correctly and is legal within the U.K.
