Antique Model 1853 Musket SN. 1854 *

Availability: In stock

Quick Overview

Antique French 1854 Manufacture Model 1853 .71 Calibre Percussion Musket in fair cosmetic, very good mechanical condition, with strong working action and many military stamps. The M1853 Percussion Musket entered service in 1853 and was officially replaced in 1857 with essentially the exact same gun, with a smaller .58 calibre bore (the M1857). They were heavily influenced by the French Charleville pattern musket and shared many of its features. They were used extensively in the Crimean War, by both the French and the Russians, and the American Civil War, where they were predominantly issued to Confederate troops. Antique, no licence required.
