The Beretta 951, which was Berettas first post war design and made use of the P38 type locking mechanism, which they utilise to this day. Like all Berettas, it was a very high quality pistol and stayed in production until 1976, when the 92 series took over. They were adopted by several nations, including the Israelis also adopted this model for the IDF and Police, who were still carrying them well into the 1990s.
