.
Deactivated Rare British BESA MKIII* 7.92mm Tank Machine Gun in very good deactivated condition and 1943 dated, with British Broad Arrow military stamps. Birmingham Small Arms began making this almost copy of the Czechoslovakian ZB53 in 1939. The MKIII entered service in 1940 and was simpler to mass produce. They fired the 7.92mm round, which was unusual for a British weapon, but with the war on going, they simply did not have the time to modify the weapon for the British .303 cartridge. They were a very reliable and exceedingly accurate weapon and remained in service until the early 1960s. All deactivated weapons sold by D and B Militaria are deactivated in the United Kingdom and hold London or Birmingham proof marks and a certificate stating that the weapon has been deactivated correctly and is legal within the U.K.
