Deactivated Arisaka Type 91 Carbine SN. 0970 “

Availability: In stock

Quick Overview

Deactivated Thai Arisaka Type 91 .30 Carbine Calibre Carbine in very good, original deactivated condition, with Thai Royal Police stamps. The Type 91 Carbines were converted by the Royal Thai Police from Japanese Arisaka Type 38 Rifles to fire the .30 M1 Carbine round. The barrels were shortened to 19.5 inches, and the furniture was cut down and the rear stock adapted to accept M1 Carbine slings and oil bottles. They served until the late 1970s. The Arisaka Rifle entered service in 1905 and was used until the end of WWII. It was the main battle rifle of the imperial Japanese forces and was used in Mongolia and China, as well as fighting the allies during WWII. It was the longest bolt action rifle in service during the war and was nearly as tall as the troops who used it. Post war testing showed that the Type 38 had one of the strongest actions of all the in service rifles at the time. All deactivated weapons sold by D and B Militaria are deactivated in the United Kingdom and hold a London or Birmingham proof mark and certificate stating that the weapon has been deactivated correctly.
