Non EU sales Only. Can be redeactivated to EU/ UK spec. Deactivated Rare Aircraft Lewis .303 Machine Gun. In very good deactivated condition, and British stamped, with no rust or pitting and very smooth action. Original BSA production and then converted by H.A. Atkins into the aircraft format from MKIV parts in 1941. Only a 1000 were made. The `A’ Marker refers to aircraft usage. Profusely broad arrow stamped. The Lewis gun entered service with British and Commonwealth forces in 1914. It was the first practical one man portable machine gun and stood up well to the atrocious conditions of the western front. They were still in use in WWII, mostly with the Royal Navy and Air Force, but Empire army units still made use of them right on up to the Korean War. An absolute classic. All deactivated weapons sold by D and B Militaria are deactivated in the United Kingdom and hold London or Birmingham proof marks and a certificate stating that the weapon has been deactivated correctly and is legal within the U.K. Can be redeactivated to EU/ UK spec.
