Deactivated Mauser G98 7.92mm Rifle. 1915 Danzig production and in good overall, original deactivated condition. Latest EU spec, with moving bolt and trigger, but non firing action. The Gewehr 98, abbreviated to G98 or Gew 98, was the standard German infantry rifle from 1898 to 1935. The Gewehr 98 saw service primarily in World War I, where it performed admirably. As with all contemporary bolt-action rifles of the period, it was a powerful and accurate weapon with long range. The action on the G98 was considered to be the bench mark for other bolt action rifles.
