Deactivated Lee Metford .303 MKII. In excellent deactivated condition with superb wood. 1900 BSA & Co. manufacture, with V.R Crown and W.D stamps. Entering service in 1884, the Lee Metford Rifle was one of the few military bolt actions that were not based on the Mauser action. They most notably served the British Army in South Africa and various other colonial conflicts, until being officially replaced by the Long Lee in 1896, though they were made and issued right on up to the dawn of WWI. All deactivated weapons sold by D and B Militaria are deactivated in the United Kingdom and hold London or Birmingham proof marks and a certificate stating that the weapon has been deactivated correctly and is legal within the U.K.
