.
Deactivated British Vickers MKI .303 Heavy Machine Gun. L Prefix Vickers Armstrong, Erith, so 1911-1916 production and in very good deactivated condition. The Vickers Gun was adopted in 1912 and retired from service in 1968, the Vickers Machine Gun can best be summed up by Ian V. Hogg, the well-known and respected smallarms expert. He describes an action that took place in August, 1916, during which the British Army's 100th Company of the Machine Gun Corps fired their ten Vickers guns continuously for twelve hours. They fired a million rounds between them, using 100 new barrels, without a single breakdown. 'It was this absolute fool proof reliability which endeared the Vickers to every British soldier who ever fired one.' No more needs to be said! All deactivated weapons sold by D and B Militaria are deactivated in the United Kingdom and hold London or Birmingham proof marks and a certificate stating that the weapon has been deactivated correctly and is legal within the U.K.
