Deactivated Colt Detective Special .38 Special Revolver in very good, original deactivated condition. This example is a rare pre-war example with the slightly different frame outline. The Colt Detective Special was introduced in 1927 on the Colt ‘D’ frame and was one of the most widely carried revolvers until the 1950s, when the Model 36 gained popularity. This is the version with the un-shrouded barrel, which many consider the more classic design. All Colt revolvers are very well made with smooth actions and are very high quality. A good looking gun and rare to find. All deactivated weapons sold by D and B Militaria are deactivated in the United Kingdom and hold London or Birmingham proof marks and a certificate stating that the weapon has been deactivated correctly and is legal within the U.K.
