British Military Line throwing device L5A1

Very Rare British Special Forces Line throwing device, 50mm, Grapnel L5A1 in excellent condition. Complete with SAS Armourers notes, operating information manual, dated 1984, carry case, grapnels and rope assemblies and spool, air bottles, spare seals, tool set, and sling. The L5A1 was developed specifically for the British SAS Boat Troop and the SBS, and are still in use with these units. They have also been adopted by other NATO Naval Special Warfare Units. They were designed to enable teams to board vessels in distress, and are capable of firing the grappling hook horizontally 100m, and vertically to a height of 50m. The hooks themselves are made of lightweight carbon fibre and capable of taking a load of 300kg. Non working condition and sold as a collectors item only. This item is not a firearm, and is not deactivated, and is covered under the 2016 Home office guidance on firearms law, S2.57 (d).
