Bergmann 1896 Number 2 Pistol

Availability: Out of stock

This item is no longer available and is for refence only

Quick Overview

Obsolete Calibre, Extremely rare Bergman 1896 Number 2 6.5mm semi-automatic pistol in excellent condition. This model is the predecessor of the Bergman-Mars pistol and was Bergmann's first successful commercial pistol. The design was unusual in several ways. It has a side mounted fold down loading plate, which gives access to the charger chamber, and the 6.5mm bullets for the Bergman 1896 were of a conical shape, for ease of extraction. On the side of the receiver it is marked "PATENT. BREV. S.G.D.G.". In front of the trigger guard, there is the Bergman Miner emblem, indicating that this pistol was manufactured at V.C. Schilling, Suhl. It also has a "double crown over U" proof mark at the rear of the bolt. An important part of firearms history and incredibly rare, especially in this condition. Obsolete Calibre, no licence required.
