Antique Remington 1858 .44 Black Powder Percussion Revolver. In fair cosmetic, excellent mechanical condition, with a very good bore, and full working, solid action. The Remington 1858 Revolver was a direct competitor to the Colts of the day and is considered by experts to be the hands down better gun. It was stronger and more reliable and also far quicker to reload. They were the preferred pistol in the American Civil War and many southern gun makers copied the Remington’s design, although captured originals were always the preferred choice.
