Very Rare Antique Manhattan Three Shot .31 Calibre Pepperbox Pistol in very good condition, with full working tight action and very good bores. The Manhattan Fire Arms Company was founded in 1856 in Norwich, Connecticut. The company produced about 2,500 pepperbox pistols in many different variations, including barrel lengths and number of shots. While all of them featured a double action trigger and hammer, most of them also revolved the barrel with a pull of the trigger. This three shot version is exceedingly rare and was the only one of Manhattan’s Pepperboxes that required the turning of the barrel cluster by hand. No more than 300 were made and production ceased in 1861. Antique, no licence required.
