Antique Rare Manhattan Series III Navy .36 Calibre Black Powder Revolver in very good, original condition, with nice solid action and bore. The Manhattan Series III Navy revolver was first introduced in 1861 and remained in production until 1864. They were an almost exact copy of the Colt Pocket Navy, with a five shot cylinder and the quality was very good for the period. Many of these revolvers were supplied to Union Forces during the American Civil War and were also used by anyone who needed a sidearm for self-protection, which in the Wild West was most people. Legend has it this type of revolver were often carried by officers during the Civil war to ward away battlefield surgeons who were trying to amputate limbs! Obsolete calibre antique, no licence required.
