Unusual Antique Four Shot Pepperbox .40 Calibre Pistol in good condition, with under hammer design, hand engraving, horn grips, and L.A.R monogram in gold on the receiver. The Pepperbox pistol first appeared in the 1830s and was the first mass produced multi shot pistol that could be fired with one hand. It was obsolete by the 1850s, when the first true revolvers started to make an appearance. However, they continued to be used until the 1870s because they looked scary and were a great deterrent! Antique, no licence required.
