Antique 1853 Enfield .577 Calibre Rifle in excellent mechanical condition. Complete with correct bayonet and leather sling. The 1853 Enfield rifle and carbine were first issued in 1853, and served the with the British until 1871, when it was replaced by the Martini action. They were also issued to all of the other Empire forces, as well as being bought by the Empire of Japan, The US Army and the Empire of Brazil. They had a practical range of 600 metres (400metres for the carbine) and hit like a sledgehammer. A trained British Empire soldier could fire 3 aimed shots a minute, though veterans could manage 4 with ease. A true classic. Antique firearm. No Licence required.
