Deactivated Nickel Plated Spiller and Burr .36 Calibre Cap and Ball Revolver. Italian replica in excellent deactivated condition and with very tight action. Spiller and Burr began making arms for the Confederate government in 1861 and their revolver was of sound design and good quality. However by the Civil War’s end, they had only managed to produce just over 1500 units for the Confederate Army. This was mainly due to poor supplies, lack of skilled workers and not having access to the new mass production methods employed by the Union. All deactivated weapons sold by D and B Militaria are deactivated in the United Kingdom and hold a London or Birmingham proof mark and certificate stating that the weapon has been deactivated correctly and is legal within the U.K.
