Availability: In stock

£3,495.00

Quick Overview

Deactivated Rare M79 40mm Grenade Launcher with full working parts and strippable. The M79 first entered service with the US Army and Marines in 1961, although the British SAS were the first to use them in combat, in 1963 in Borneo. Known as the `Bloop Gun’, because the sound it makes when fired, it was immediately popular with the troops issued it. It is extremely simple to use and therefore reliable, and can lob a multitude of offensive grenades, as well as smoke and gas, up to 350 metres. They are still in use with US Special Forces and have been seen recently in Iraq and Afghanistan. They have been adopted by over 40 nations worldwide and will be around for a long time to come. All deactivated weapons sold by D and B Militaria are deactivated in the United Kingdom and hold London or Birmingham proof marks and a certificate stating that the weapon has been deactivated correctly and is legal within the U.K.
