Deactivated Gaulois 8mm Squeeze Pistol in good, original condition. The Gaulois Squeeze Pistol was first introduced in 1893 by the French company of Manufacture Française d’Armes de Saint-Étienne and stayed in production until 1912. It was first known as `Le Mitrailleuse’, but the name was changed after a few years to Le Gaulois. It was a simple mechanical mechanism that fired and reloaded the cartridge from the internal magazine when the palm of the hand was squeezed shut, hence it’s name. They were very popular because of their size and ease of use and were being carried right on up until WWII. All deactivated weapons sold by D and B Militaria are deactivated in the United Kingdom and hold London or Birmingham proof marks and a certificate stating that the weapon has been deactivated correctly and is legal within the U.K.
