Deactivated M3 .50 Calibre Aircraft Gun SN. 8790 *

£995.00

Quick Overview

Deactivated M3 .50 Calibre Aircraft Machine Gun in good deactivated condition. 1953 dated and with correct solenoid and auto-cocking mechanism. The M3 version of the .50 Cal was the version intended for armoured vehicles, ships, air defence and aircraft, with a shorter barrel, air cooling jacket and various firing mechanisms, depending on the role. Otherwise, it was essentially the same as the standard infantry M2. The Browning .50 Calibre Machine Gun, is a heavy machine gun designed towards the end of World War I by John Browning. It is very similar in design to John Browning's earlier M1919 Browning machine gun, which was chambered for the .30-06 cartridge. It has been used extensively as a vehicle weapon and for aircraft armament by the United States from the 1920s to the present day. It was heavily used during World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, as well as during operations in Iraq and Afghanistan in the 2000s. It is the primary heavy machine gun of all NATO countries, and has been used by many other countries as well, most notably, Israel. All deactivated weapons sold by D and B Militaria are deactivated in the United Kingdom and hold a London or Birmingham proof mark and certificate stating that the weapon has been deactivated correctly and is legal within the U.K.
